Vintage / antique art deco BTH (General Electric) oscillating desk fan
This is a stunning example of an original BTH (British Thomson-Houston) desk fan. BTH was based in Rugby and was a subsidiary of the American company General Electric. This fan is identical to General Electric’s own oscillating fan which was patented in 1911. This particular fan is in really nice condition with all its original components. The brass has polished up beautifully. It’s had a fresh lick of paint, so should be protected from rust for decades to come. It runs well in all 3 gears and the oscillating mechanism works as it should do. The wiring does not look original, but please ask an electrician to test it if you’re going to use it as a working desk fan in summer. Overall, it’s in fantastic condition for a practical item that is quite possibly knocking on 80-100 years old now.
