This listing is for the Antique AIR CASTLE Airplane PROPELLER Art Deco 2 Blade 3 SPEED Electric Fan. This fan has been cleaned and the motor is lubed. It has been tested multiple times and is in a fully working condition. This is quite rare with a fully covered aluminum housing and a very unique fan design. Both the airplane style blade and the base design reflect early aviation design. The fan is powerful in the amount of air output. It also has a feature that draws air in from the back of the housing and out the front of the housing, which cools the fan motor. The speed indicator is very unique as it changes when the chain is pulled. It also features a stainless steel ornate cage. Caution: Early electrical items were not designed with modern safety features. Operate the item with great care. Both mechanical and electrical parts may wear and pose a hazard. The cage has open areas that lack protection. Overall the unit measures roughly 22.5″ in height, 18.5″ side to side, and 14 front to back. The fan blade is just over 16. The total weight of the fan is about 20 lbs. Condition Issues (see video and photos). The fan hardware has areas with wear, discoloration, and patina consistent with age and use. The power cord is a new “antique style” cord. The logo plaque, which is normally in the front center of the case, is missing. The black paint on the base has areas where it is worn, scuffed, and missing. The stainless steel case has areas with light dirt buildup and light surface rust spots (most of this has been cleaned). The fan blade has light pitting, scuffing, and a few small gouges. It is slightly out of balance, which is only noticeable at certain speeds. The speed / on / off indicator is worn and some of the labeling partially legible and one of the “off” labels is completely worn. The chrome on the base has light rust spots, very light pitting, scuffing, and scratching. Please see video, photos, and ask questions to best determine the item type, value, and condition.
