R & M 3854-C Robbins & Myers 4 blade 16 brass desk fan, alternating current
OLD ANTIQUE VTG ROBBINS & MYERS No 3854 C OSCILLATING ELECTRIC FAN (mid-1920s). This offeringis for an original antique R & M Electric Fan that I found while goingthrough my dad’s stuff. The fan is large and heavy at 22 pounds. It measures approximately 21 in overallheight to the top of the cage, the cage itself measures approx. 17″ indiameter, the blades are right at 16″ in diameter and it measures approx. 14½ in height to the top of the motor housing. The fan is marked “R& M” on the tag on the front of the cage. The brass tag on the top ofthe motor reads ROBBINS & MYERS FAN, ALTERNATING CURRENT, MADE AND PATENTED IN USA, 110 VOLTS 60 CYCLES LIST NO. 3854-C, THE ROBBINS & MYERS COMPANY SPRINGFIELD OHIO. The blades of the fan are brass while the cage is steel. Thereare scratches and rust? At various locations on the motor housing, base, andcage; the cord is frayed and the plug is missing its cover; the felt bottom hasa small spot of rust? And the blades have quite a patina on them. The fan runs well and oscillates, but Ididn’t run it for too long as I’m uncertain of the safety of the power cord andplug. Please inspect allattached photos carefully, I have tried to capture most of the fan in greatdetail. I’ll be happy toanswer any questions or requests. Thank you for looking.
