Antique Emerson 12 24646 Brass Blade Desk Fan. This fan is being offered in as found condition straight from a long-time collector’s estate. We replaced the head wire and power cord to ensure that the fan operated as intended and it does run and oscillate as intended on all three speeds. It appears that the original finish was sprayed over and it has some chips. The patina that has developed on the brass is beautiful. The Emerson Type 24646 is considered very desirable as it was in. Troduced in 1917 and is considered a transitional year as many of the features are seen on earlier Emerson Type models and also may contain features from the 27 series that replaced it. Several notable variations of this model are the smaller diameter base, cast or forged handle, and it appears it may be an earlier 24 series as it contains the cast iron hub and Bullwinkle blades.
