Antique 19thC PANCAKE MOTOR General Electric FAN Type UI Form E Last Pat’d 1890. Barn found antique General Electric pancake fan. Brass tag is stamped Alternating current fan motor, type UI form E 9, volts 104, cycles 125, No. May 17:87 Mar 19:89 June 4:89 July 30:89 May 27:90 General Electric Company U. Fan measures 15 1/2″ high to top of cage, base measures 7″ in diameter. Motor has not been tested with electricity due to missing power cord but the shaft spins freely. The brass tag and blades have patina and oxidation. The motor housing has rust, paint loss, and pitting. The brass thumb-screw switch on the backside of the motor is chipped and has looseness (see photo). Cage has bends and verdigris, and the outer hoop section is loose where it connects to itself (see photo). Base is heavily rusted and pitted with flaking. Be sure to add me to your favorites list.
