Antique 1909 General Electric Ceiling Fan CAST IRON Ornate DIRECT CURRENT USA. 115 V Direct Current No. 318,305 Patented March 14,1893 and January 31, 1899. 52″ some literature suggest 58″? In as found unrestored condition with old plating, oxidation and plenty of patina. This early seldom seen antique General Electric Direct Current ceiling fan was tested in Fort Worth by the late great Mr. Sam Morgan, formally of Vintage Fans, the antique fan shop that closed in 2017 after many years of repairing these machines. Sam’s own pen the tag reads “Test Good, Shaft Good”. The motor comes with original brackets, but no blades. This is an original century 110 year old ornamental D. Ceiling fan with original parts. It includes the original short fluted (and often missing) motor top canopy. It is also the earliest version with the short lived smaller ornamental cast iron oil cup.
