Well in excess of 100 years old, this motor dates from the 1890’s and is offered in “as found” “WORKING” condition. From what I can tell, this fan motor is unmolested — COMPLETE and ORIGINAL. Especially note all the original screws/fasteners, the original knurled screw on/off switch, spring-loaded copper brush assemblies, brass blade and brass guard, which are normally missing or reproduced. The brass plate reads MANUFACTURED BY EDISON MFG, CO. This is EARLY and RARE. It would make a meaningful addition to any collection in its current condition, or would be an excellent candidate for restoration. The motor has been tested and runs perfectly on one D cell battery, even though it is designed to run on 4.5 volts. An old, HEAVY, CAST IRON MOTOR ready to be displayed and demonstrated!
