Antique Emerson Model 73646AK Three Speed Oscillating Electric Fan, Runs Well. The date code number on the plate is 17, (which if you add 20), the mfg date would be 1937. Pre-war / depression era. The blades are 12 inches in diameter. It has a handle to carry it with. This fan has the four early style “Parker” shaped blades as shown. This has the twist adjust for Oscillation. It is fully turned out to swing from side to side while running. Simply when it is shut off, twist the knob for the oscillation adjustment, and it brings the pivot point to the center and Oscillation is shut off. This is original throughout except for fan blade brass tone paint and cage brass tone paint. These are not brass blades or cage, rather painted brass tone or gold. These did come from the factory this way, and was called a Dull Brass. When it runs and oscillates, it catches light nicely. This is not restored, rather totally original and runs very well. The paint on the base and motor is original. The back of the oscillation unit has been lightly touched up on the back surface area with black paint. The cord is Original! It appears in good condition, although with a lot of use, could be considered something to replace for optimum safety. The motor runs beautifully. All three speeds work with the lever in the base. These motors are known for lasting forever with a drop of oil once a year. We cleaned, and cleaned, and cleaned, several hours worth, and it came out real nice in our opinion for original. There are paint chips on the outer round portion of the base. We chose not to repaint the fan motor and base, as it presents itself very nicely as an un-restored original.
