Very smooth running Emerson 16 Brass-bladed 6-wing fan — from the days that fans were indeed made to last a lifetime. This was Emerson’s largest home fan back when it was manufactured in 1919. The six-wing version was a quieter version and ran slower than its 4-blade counterpart. This fan runs beautifully on all three speeds, oscillates perfectly and barely heats up; its motor staying cool to the touch with obvious ease of operation. The wattage is minimal for this specimen as well: At 120V she runs at 65 watts on low, 69 watts on medium, and 86 watts on high. At 110V (which was the voltage she was made for) she runs at 58 watts on low, 72 watts on medium and 78 watts on high. On high speed this fan will blow your head off. About the condition of this fan: I would mark this as very good. It is in un-restored condition, but the paint is shiny with gloss overall – and with only a few chips missing (and touched up) in a few places. The fan was oiled last in 2013 and the oscillating mechanism was re-greased in 2012. She has not run much in the last two years, but in turning her on today she ran flawlessly, with a 30 second wind-down. The head-wire and cord were replaced in 2007. Of note: There are some light scratches on the Parker blades. You can see them in the pictures (and I’ll be happy to send more pics should you like). A good brass polishing would reduce/erase said scratches. The blades could use a good polishing in any case. The rest of the fan is in very good, very operational, condition. This fan is heavy! It is made of cast-iron and weighs 30 pounds. You can be assured of excellent and secure packing. If you’d like another shipper, I’m happy to accommodate.
