1919 GE 75431 AOU V4 General Electric 12 Brass Plated Blade Fan. Rare AC/DC 2 Star Fan. Restored by AFCA member. Brass Plated Blade 12. S wrapped Steel Cage. Brushes cleaned and replaced. New period style head wire and power cord. Cleaned/oiled motor and bearings. Wick condition new and has been oiled. Oscillation gearbox opened and new grease added. Newly brass plated steel blades. A VERY NICE PERIOD FAN RESTORED TO WORKING ORDER BY AFCA MEMBER. GE Introduced the Three Star oscillator in 1914 and it ran for about two years. However around 1916 apparently GE decided that the third star was not worth the cost. The brass star shaped set screw at the neck was replaced with a cast iron screw knob, the Two Star oscillator was born. From 1917 to 1919 the two stars were made with brass, steel & aluminum blades. The cage was all brass or a combination of steel & brass or steel in the S wrap style. For all practical purposes these two fans are the same fan, but fan collectors like to call them Two Stars and Three Stars. New Bell crank wheel, no stars, brass blades & steel cages. MUST HAVE A U. PLEASE view pictures as they are a part of the description…. I can not be responsible for the design safety of these fans, especially guarding, which is inherent in their early designs.
