General Electric Oscillating Fan 1930’s Art Deco Vortalex blade, 10 inch-2 SPEED. FM10V1 110/120 V C Y 60 A 0. It is missing the original AC plug, needs cleaning & oiling. The low speed gradually builds up speed when the blades are nudged. The high speed also seems to need a push, but the high speed takes off like a bat! I used a lamp cord with wire nuts to apply the AC voltage of 115 volts. The fact remains, that someone with the proper knowledge can restore this fan to its full glory and potential. I have not tried to clean or oil it. The wiring is very dried out and need to be replaced. But I don’t even know where you could get the type of wire that is on the fan. In other words, this is how it was found and it is as original as an antique can be. There is an odor coming from the fan, can’t tell if it is from being stored or if it was exposed to something.
