Emerson 29646 antique fan
I’ve decided to let go of one of my prized Emerson 29646 antique fans. This one should not disappoint. I could bore you with endless details of the restoration process, but I think it should suffice to say that it has been lovingly restored to the best of my abilities and runs beautifully. Originally, this fan had brass paint over the original brass blade. These fans look so much better with the wings polished. I remove the wings, powder coat the hub, polish the wings and re-rivet them to the hub. Then I balance the assembly for smooth running. Also, some of the hardware has been replaced with polished brass items simply for aesthetic reasons. One aspect of my restorations I’m particularly proud of is the finish. I use only non-toxic finishes, such as powder coat, out of concerns about indoor pollution. After the powder coat process, I cut back and polish it just like the factory did nearly 100 years ago when they applied the Japan finish it originally had. Only the most experienced fan collectors would be able to tell the difference between my powder coat and the original finish. I pay particular attention to the function as well. Using various tools, I assure that the electrics are sound and working efficiently and safely. I pack my fans with extra care. Please study the pictures in detail. Use the zoom to inspect it closely. A fan of this stature and caliber of restoration will enhance any room’s decor. The item “Emerson 29646 antique fan” is in sale since Thursday, April 28, 2016.
