ANTIQUE GENERAL ELECTRIC GE BRASS 3 SPEED 12 FAN PAT. 1895 works
ANTIQUE GENERAL ELECTRIC GE BRASS 3 SPEED 12 FAN PAT. This antique General Electric fan is in original and mostly good condition. I was crazy enough to plug it in and it worked on all three speeds. It made a little noise for the first few seconds and then ran quietly, I let it run for about a minute. I dusted it off and that was it, I figured anything more cleaning or shining should be done by someone that knows what they are doing. It measures 12 across the blades, tilts up and down and weighs 25 pounds. The paint is for the most part good, except around the base and it should shine up a lot. The brass cage on the fan is bent out of shape a little, one fan blade has a little corrosion and another has a tiny ding. The wiring looks hazardous and should be replaced, the pig tail on the cord needs replacing as it is broken and clearly unsafe. It didnt stop me from plugging it in but it should have. The last patent date is 1895. Pictures give the details. Its a fantastic old fan and deserves to be restored to its former beauty. There are always exceptions so ask if its important to you.
