Fan works but the oscillating feature doesn’t… The engagement knob shaft is broken between the internal drive and cam linkage. The oscillating knob turns when the fan is running but not consistently and I’m not sure if it needs a load to stay engaged or if there is a problem with the drive itself. There is no outward evidence of internal damage to the oscillating gearbox as indicated by noise or motor loading… Fan runs quiet and smooth. The cord and plug are not original and the existing plug is damaged and will need to be replaced. The wiring between the base and motor looks original but is in poor condition. OA Height approximately 13. Blade Diameter is about 8 1/2. Cage Diameter is around 10 1/2. The item “Antique GE Oscillating Desk Fan 1930s 55X165″ is in sale since Thursday, October 8, 2020.
