1893 Knapp No. 3 Bi-polar Battery Motor & Blade Edison Tesla Era Bipolar Fan
Make sure to check out all of my auctions after you look at this one. I’m listing another eclectic selection of mechanical, technological and musical antiques, and I suspect that there will be something to interest just about everyone. Here’s an early and fairly scarce Knapp No. 3 bipolar motor / fan. Condition is very good throughout. Nice original enamel on the casting, with minor wear but nothing excessive. The armature moves freely and the shaft is straight. No damage evident to any of the parts. The blade is in excellent condition, with no damage. The winding are original and in excellent condition; the base is original, with its original finish still intact. It can probably be made to work by someone familiar with its design, but when I apply 6v DC to the binding posts, it does not react. Without the blade mounted, the motor is about 10 high. That’s about it. The item “1893 Knapp No. 3 Bi-polar Battery Motor & Blade Edison Tesla Era Bipolar Fan” is in sale since Sunday, May 15, 2016.
