A CIRCA 1885 WESTERN ELECTRIC Model G-1 BIPOLAR electric motor with exceptional hand-painted decoration. With cast bas-relief bronze builder’s plaque as shown. HAS THE NUMBER/ LETTER “1854-C” CAST INTO CAST IRON BASE. Retains outer thin black cloth coil covers (in super clean shape), on both of the two bipolar coil assemblies, which makes this bipolar motor even more uncommon than most. There some very tiny nicks to the end cap edges on both coil top ends. The motor is rated at “1 AMP” and 110 VOLTS. ” It has a “REV” rated at “1300” at “1/12 H. The circular mount for the two electric armature brushes slips off of its mount and needs an adjustment or a shim added for better retention. This impressive electric motor measures 8″ x 6″ x 7 1/2 in size. The coils are each 2 3/4 in diameter. One screw is missing on pulley side of motor body at top.
