RARE Vintage Electric Fan with Brass Blades and Cage, Very Early maybe pre WW1
Very Early Antique Electric Desk Fan. It is for 110 volt working by the lettering on the base, but before the establishment of the National Grid in the 1930s there were many different mains voltages in the UK. The cast-iron body is nicely moulded with scrollwork and decorated with gold lining over the black lacquer. The switch or speed control? In the base is white porcelain. The brush tubes appear to be ebonite. The top of one of the oilers is missing as far as I can tell, the other is in place. Looking at the pictures of similar fans on collectors websites, it could be as early as pre First World War. Overall it’s in great and very restorable condition – I just wish I knew the make! Item will be invisibly security marked and note taken of the serial no before despatch. I also travel frequently to the Midlands via the M40 and M42 so could meet and deliver.
