I think it’s asking for some tightening and for some oil! The last photo shows the fan “on”. The switch can be coerced into the “off” position, but I’ve just left it “on”. We’ve used this beautiful piece for a number of years, but we’re ready to part with it. It has been cleaned and oiled over the years, but it hasn’t been thoroughly cleaned in a while.
