Fresh from an estate is a minty art deco antique electric fan manufactured by Wright Industries of Lisbon, Ohio in the later 1930s / early 40s. Marketed as the “Zephyr Airkooler, ” the fan features a solid aluminum stylized body, blades, and motor housing, which was very unique at the time. The fan is in a remarkable state of preservation — it appears to have been rarely, if ever, used. The fan was manufactured for both use as a desk fan or to be mounted on a wall — it would look outstanding mounted to a wall! The fan is in outstanding original cosmetic condition — looks to have never been used. The paint is nearly fully intact with almost no scuffing or scratches (save one on the back of the motor). The “Wright Industries” applied overlay on the front center of the base is still present and legible. The soiled hang tag is still present on the cord, which is also original. The cage and blade are dusty and dirty and should clean up well. Please see pictures for a visual inspection of the fan. The fan is a single model and operates well with a little noise — perhaps needs oil? The fan’s height is 12.5″, width is 10″, and depth is 8.25. Vintage fans make wonderful, unique, and highly distinctive birthday, wedding, and holiday gifts. Stand out from the gift giving crowd with a vintage fan — a gift they will use, appreciate, and remind them of you! In addition to the practical use of providing air movement, the fan could also be used as wonderful and stylish accent item in a range of settings vintage home, beach house, office, second home, etc. As it really conveys the 1930s. Please note: in some photos there may be a very faint vertical yellow-ish line on the left third of the photo. This is an issue with the camera, the line is not evident on the fan! Very rare 1930’s Edgar T Ward “Zephyr ” high velocity industrial propeller fan designed by Robert D Budlong. This was removed from a restaurant that was in business from the late 30’s into the early 60’s. Has beautiful stepped deco cast iron base. It was designed to be sat on a counter or mounted on the ceiling or wall. It is in nice physical condition and still works great and puts out a ton of air. There was originally a pull switch to turn it on and off but somewhere along the way the switch must have broken because it was hardwired to be on all the time and controlled by a switched outlet in the restaurant. This is a large, rare and heavy fan. A relic from a time when things were meant to last a lifetime. This is NOT a best offer listing. The price is not negotiable. This is a large, rare, heavy electrical item. Fan will need to be picked up at location it is being stored. I will NOT deliver.

This is the iconic fan designed in the early 1930s by Robert D. Budlong for the Edgar T. The fan blades are cast aluminum in a unique and classic period design with a very cool wire cage. The motor is no longer working and the base has suffered from surface rust but as it is heavy cast iron, it is a good candidate for restoration. I have used it just as an ornamental piece over the years as a stunning machine age sculpture and hoped one day to have it rewired and restored but it is one more thing I will not get to. It stands over 6′ tall and can be adjusted even higher or possibly cut down if necessary. The mounting tube telescopes inside the base tube and the chromed flange covers the end. The fan cage is 30″ in diameter and the base is 22″ across. Please contact me also as I might be able to deliver as far as New York.

Very Rare Vintage 1930’s Victor Zephyr Hanging Ceiling Fan 12 Near Mint. Here is a seldom seen Victor Zephyr fan in near mint condition with just a few small spots of paint loss but not bad at all. When I got this it had a thick coat of dust which I believe means that it was taken out of service and stored for many years. According to my research these were made between 1935 and 1940. This fan works perfectly, even the shiny black louvers rotate when the nut is adjusted for slower or faster movement. I could find no rust anywhere. It looks like an original cord with no damage. The blades look to be tin or a thin metal and measure about 12 across. The cage measures about 14 1/2″ across, and overall thickness is about 11 1/2″ to the mounting loop on top. This is a little heavy at 14 pounds boxed. Please see pictures for more detail as they are part of the description. I only sell to United States customers and only the lower 48 states. I do not end auctions early so please don’t ask. I will take extra measures to insure that your item is packaged to arrive safely. Thanks and Good Luck.
