Very rare 1930’s Edgar T Ward “Zephyr ” high velocity industrial propeller fan designed by Robert D Budlong. This was removed from a restaurant that was in business from the late 30’s into the early 60’s. Has beautiful stepped deco cast iron base. It was designed to be sat on a counter or mounted on the ceiling or wall. It is in nice physical condition and still works great and puts out a ton of air. There was originally a pull switch to turn it on and off but somewhere along the way the switch must have broken because it was hardwired to be on all the time and controlled by a switched outlet in the restaurant. This is a large, rare and heavy fan. A relic from a time when things were meant to last a lifetime. This is NOT a best offer listing. The price is not negotiable. This is a large, rare, heavy electrical item. Fan will need to be picked up at location it is being stored. I will NOT deliver.

This is the iconic fan designed in the early 1930s by Robert D. Budlong for the Edgar T. The fan blades are cast aluminum in a unique and classic period design with a very cool wire cage. The motor is no longer working and the base has suffered from surface rust but as it is heavy cast iron, it is a good candidate for restoration. I have used it just as an ornamental piece over the years as a stunning machine age sculpture and hoped one day to have it rewired and restored but it is one more thing I will not get to. It stands over 6′ tall and can be adjusted even higher or possibly cut down if necessary. The mounting tube telescopes inside the base tube and the chromed flange covers the end. The fan cage is 30″ in diameter and the base is 22″ across. Please contact me also as I might be able to deliver as far as New York.

Very Rare Vintage 1930’s Victor Zephyr Hanging Ceiling Fan 12 Near Mint. Here is a seldom seen Victor Zephyr fan in near mint condition with just a few small spots of paint loss but not bad at all. When I got this it had a thick coat of dust which I believe means that it was taken out of service and stored for many years. According to my research these were made between 1935 and 1940. This fan works perfectly, even the shiny black louvers rotate when the nut is adjusted for slower or faster movement. I could find no rust anywhere. It looks like an original cord with no damage. The blades look to be tin or a thin metal and measure about 12 across. The cage measures about 14 1/2″ across, and overall thickness is about 11 1/2″ to the mounting loop on top. This is a little heavy at 14 pounds boxed. Please see pictures for more detail as they are part of the description. I only sell to United States customers and only the lower 48 states. I do not end auctions early so please don’t ask. I will take extra measures to insure that your item is packaged to arrive safely. Thanks and Good Luck.

Up for sale is this antique Edgar Ward Zephyr electric fan. This was originally a ceiling hung fan that has been placed into a heavy cast iron pedestal base. This fan is very large and has a huge motor with unusual streamlined art deco ridges. It also has very unusually shaped blades and an interesting stepped steel cage. This dates back to around the 1930s period and is a rare fan. I tested it and it does run and really blows alot of air. The guard measures 30 inches across.
