It will need a good cleaning and tuning. Tighten up the screws and bolts to make sure the fan blades don’t touch. Pictures show it on and the blades spinning. It doesn’t have a burning smell or make weird noises. Pictures show condition of everything. Rare bc it’s 18 inches from side to side. This is a heavy and larger desk fan. Excellent condition, fully functional, 1950s box fan. The beautiful, metallic blue paint does have some scuffs and scrapes and minor rust, but looks amazing for being 60 years old. Manufactured by Western Auto Supply Co (history below). This fan will make an amazing antique focal piece in your garage, man cave, or even your living room. It also looks like it would be right at home in a vintage diner. You cannot go wrong with this piece. 15″ tall, 15″ wide, 6.5 deep. Western Auto Supply Company-known more widely as Western Auto-was a specialty retail chain of stores that supplied automobile parts and accessories. It operated approximately 1200 stores across the United States. Pepperdine later founded Pepperdine University. Western Auto was bought by Beneficial Corporation in 1961; Western Auto’s management led a leveraged buyout in 1985, leading three years later to a sale to Sears.
