Fresh from an estate is an original solid brass cage from an Emerson type 14644 antique electric fan. The cage will also fit Emerson type 19644 fans. The cage is in good used condition. Two “S” wires have breaks where they wrap around back cage ring and have old repairs. Some other “S” wires were long ago reinforced by solder where they wrap around the back cage ring. The cage is dirty and needs cleaning. The cage will be expertly packed — bubble wrapped and doubled-boxed. Up for grabs is an extremely Rare FWEW Wood System solid brass fan. Sadly during restoration a screw was put in the wrong position and it was too long and hit the motor windings causing damage to about 10 strands or so. The one motor winding still ohms out correctly, so odds are a person could unwind the motor to the point where it’s no longer damaged and rewind the motor appropriately keeping track of the number of windings removed. It will be tedious work but it’s totally possible. Otherwise there is a ton of perfect parts here to help with restoration of other Fan(s). The speed controller coil tests out properly, the base is in excellent condition. The exterior motor body is decent. With a little more work it could look great. The fan blades weren’t polished on the back side. It needs a cage and a set screw for the blades. Hopefully someone will bring this unit back to life, otherwise the parts from it can hopefully bring some other fans back to life.

Hunter table fan made by General Electric. 16 inch solid brass blades. Cast iron base and housings. This is a big fan, and has LOTS of power on all speeds! Fan was completely taken apart and every part cleaned. New wires and wall plug. New grommets, oiler wick, felt on base. Original paint is in good condition for age. Has been cleaned and waxed. The only part repainted is the cage/guard. Blades have been clear coated to retain shine. SEE PHOTOS FOR COSMETIC CONDITION! There is scuffing and paint loss, as well as the usual wear and tear.
