Up for your consideration is this super cool looking Vintage MID CENTURY RETRO ART DECO 10 Blade ROTO BEAM 3-Speed Air Circulator fan. This fan is is Clean as a Whistle from top to bottom. It is in AMAZING Cosmetic Condition “Not Perfect” but Very Very Nice. It does have a couple Minor scratchs here & there from age & use. The Chrome cage is in fantastic condition. The Brown Bakelite Plastic Bullet motor & Round base are in Great condition. The 5-blades on this fan are Cool looking & in great condition. This mid-century modern classic will bring style and grace to your home. It works great, bringing form and function to any room you choose to place it. The fan can be swiveled an amazing 180 degrees. This fan is original. It measures 14 inches tall with a 10-inch blade, 12″ cage, and 8″ front to back. The entire body has been primed and repainted using oil-based Hunter Green paint on the motor, Harbor Blue paint on the fins and Piano Black on the base. The fan blades are aluminum and are so balanced that it takes a full 38 seconds for them to stop rotating after the fan is switched off! Good old American craftsmanship at its best! The cord measures 72 (6 feet) in length and is original. I replaced the plug with a mid-century modern replica. The bottom of the fan has new felt to protect the surface of wherever you place it from getting scratched. The fan moves an amazing amount of air and is relatively quiet for something built more than 60 years ago, so you are getting exceptional form and function. Please view the photos carefully, as what you see is what you will get, although I think the pictures do not capture the real beauty of this fan. Please remember to keep your fan away from small children and pets, as the cage was not designed to protect little fingers or paws. Oil the fan with a light grade lubricant once a year. Also included is a 13-page copy of the original instruction booklet that came with the fan. I have tried, but been unable to find a copy for this fan, but I’d say 95% of the information is the same. I love great design and this St. Louis built Emerson model 5460 12 Silver Swan fan. From the mid 1930’s delivers in every way. No other vintage fan comes close to this Art Deco beauty. This three speed fan works marvelously, packing a tremendous air flow throughout its oscillating swing. The polished aluminum finish on the fan hub, four blades, and back cover is excellent. The original four position switch with the original knob is in place and works as expected with proper progression from Off to low (I), then to medium (II), and then to high (III). The fan quickly comes up to speed on each setting with no noise, just the sound of the air blowing past. The extent of the oscillating swing is adjustable or can be halted completely with the knob at the back of the fan. There are a few minor issues. The back aluminum cover has a shallow dent. The front Silver Swan label has significant wear. The paper label over the motor is missing. The power cord is modern. The front grill cover has a few minor dents and one of the four mounting clamps is missing. The felt bottom cover has some wear along with three extra holes where screws attached the fan to a wood base. And lastly, the fan could use some additional cleaning. That’s not much for this iconic and highly collectible fan. This fan often appears in exhibitions of outstanding industrial design, including one not long ago at the St. I uploaded a short video of the fan running to YouTube. These gorgeous fans in this condition come along all too rarely. Don’t let this one slip away.. This Silver Swan fan measures about 16″ H x 14″ W x 8 D and weighs about 32 lbs.
