This antique fan is a beautifully restored Western Electric fan model made of brass, featuring a lollipop design. It is a 12-inch table/desk fan powered by electricity, manufactured in the United States. The fan is in excellent working condition and is a sought-after collectible item for fans of vintage electric appliances. Very nice restored western electric Victor 12 inch lollipop fan. Looks and runs like new. I restored this fan over 10 years ago for a customer who has asked me to sell it for them. One of two stamped brass maker’s plates cites a PATENT date of DECEMBER 26, 1893. The brass “LOLLIPOP” oscillator stick and flat disk assembly is lackin. G – along with the weight, but its mounting spindle is present as is shown. We have been told that a accurately made “LOLLIPOP” piece is being reproduced and can be had to finish off this fan, but we are not sure as we are not serious’fan people. The stamped brass flag w/ ROBBINS & MYERS name and logo cage BADGE is broken off out of the center of the fan. Cage where it was once braised. These may be reproduced and available – but we are not certain. As this exact brass fan blade cage and badge was used in later more common round base ROBBINS & MYERS, a purist can more easily find and use one to finally bring this fan up to snuff all the way if so desired. Entire fan stands 21″ TALL and the fan blade cage is 17″ WIDE. The fan also measures10 from front. Of cage to back of the motor. The fan weighs 26 POUNDS. THIS FAN WORKS FINE and is activated by the ALL ORIGINAL functioning early form shuttle switch. Electric cording appears to be original but has the tan colored outer cloth surround worn. Wear, scratches and paint discoloring is all original and is consistent with age and use. See all photos as they are part of the description. Some remnant of gold pin-stripping is. Still evident throughout the fan assembly, but worn. Set screw to pedestal support below fan. Motor is old but may not be original. Very nice 12 Western Electric lollipop fan. This is a fan I have wanted to restore for a long time. I did two of them and one is a keeper. The fan is finished in a dark blue with silver pinstripes and full nickel trim. Its an earlier version DC lollipop with the open cage ring and also the round rod back ring. The upper and lower struts are also unique and fit the round rod back ring. Fully restored the shaft has been re-turned and new bearings installed. The blade and rotor have been balanced for smooth vibration free running. Since this is a DC fan it has 3 speed positions on the switch versus just 2 speeds on the AC version. Runs perfectly and quietly on the slow speed. Very nice professionally restored fan. Locally advertised and subject to prior sale. Additional pictures available on request.
