Antique working table top fan. Vintage electric fan model no 29646 made by the Emerson mfg Co. Complete with brass blades made by the Parker fan Blade Co. Which are period for the fan. The 4 polished blades are a kidney shape variety. The fan was made in 1926 according to the type number and use of the Emerson pyramid which was used from 1926 onwards. The other indicator is the Improved Parker fan blade pat pen stamp which wasn’t approved until. Aug 9 of 1927. Blades marked: The Parker Fan Blade, Patd SEPT 12 1899. Plaque: Emerson, The Emerson Electric Mfg Co New York, St Louis. Volts: 110 Type: 29646 Cycles: 60 Speed. Made in United States of America for alternating current-Patented. A great addition to your antique fan or electric device collection. This would make a great unique gift for a birthday or housewarming. Antique fan base measures 8.5 inches diameter. Fan measures 13 inches wide by 16 inches tall and weighs 20lb 4 oz. For sale is an. Antique cast iron Shoo Fly Swatter Fan wind-up base. This early mechanical fan was designed to wave a fly swatter or cloth back and forth when wound, keeping flies away from food before the advent of electric fans. The piece still retains part of its. On the bottom, reading. “Mattai Ingram Co – Baltimore, MD”. Though much of it is no longer legible. The base is made of solid cast iron with its original wind-up mechanism (unrestored). It does seem to wind – but the little latch seems to get caught and does not remain in position, which continues to catch it to make the spinning a bit temperamental.

Rotor is locked from years of sitting, I did not want to remove the winding to free up. Motor shows continuity, motor coils look good, speed coil is bad, coil cover missing screw, (See Images). The 1938 GE 16 Blade 78X233 60 Amp Art Deco Industrial Fan is a vintage and antique piece suitable for indoor use. The fan is designed with an iron construction and a black color finish on the body and casing, but the blades look gold/brass, showcasing the classic Art Deco style. It’s got some wear and corrosion but could be cleaned or appreciated as is! It’s really beautiful (and heavy) and deserves a great new home.
