Beautiful 12 Interior Conduit AEG Pancake Motor Fan. This fan is a staple for the fan designs of the late 1800’s. The exposed V style brushes on the back of the over engineered cast iron motor are simple gorgeous. Fan appears to be in 100% original condition. The fan runs great with some brush arching. Measuring from the base to the top of the motor is 11 1/4 high. The Pancake style motor is 6 1/2 in diameter. The brass blades are 12 in diameter. It had been in storage for many, many decades. Blades spin freely with no noises. Blades are pretty much straight but may need a little bit of tweaking. Cage is a little bent. Motor and base have no cracks and have a lot of the original paint, but also has rust. Speed control lever works. The brass tag on the side of the base that reads. INTERIOR CONDUIT & INSULATION CO. 7200 ALTERNATION 104 VOLTS PATENTS PENDING. On ceramic base is: CONNECT HEAR. The cord is cracked and decayed and unusable. Untested as I would have to rewrite the power cord and I have no source of 104 Volt power. This will be professionally packaged and insured. Nothing screams Industrial Design like this DHR Made In Germany 12 Desk Fan. This fan has many design similarities to the Interior Conduit/Lundell Sprague fans that were being produced here in the states during the late 1800’s early 1900’s. The cast iron motor is just so impressive with the large over sized brushes mounted on the back. The blade and guard are nickel plated and have a nice rich patina. The guard is a very unique design, the front cage wires mount to the outer diameter of the guard. The cage struts are brass and have been painted black. The switch is all original, this is the same style used on the Interior Conduit and Lundell Sprague designed fans. I have been unable to get the fan to run. There is power to the brushes but there are two open contacts on the commutator. This is just an impressive fan and a must for any serious fan collector!!
