Gorgeous piece of history as far as heating goes. This works when plugged in. I assume the base is cast iron given how heavy it is. Has a tilt key that works.

It is adjustable you can tilt it different directions. I did replace the cord because it was very sketchy, I just used an extra one I had laying around it was off of a bench grinder so it’s durable. I know it will definitely clean up more I just use the damp cloth to give it a wipe down. Vintage LE John Hassock Metal Electric Floor Fan HEATER & COOLING Model HF 12-1. Heater and fan works great and is in good condition. The unit has age, wear and rust. Majority of the rust is on the bottom of the feet. Please review all pictures to see the condition of the fan. 16″ Wide x 13.5″ Tall. If you receive the item and it is not as described. Please let us know immediately so we may rectify. The issue to your satisfaction. Made in the 1950’s in Huntington, West Virginia. The plant that was closed in 1958 is still standing. Here is some cool information about her maker:The Le John Manufacturing Co. Was established in 1946 by Sam S. Politano, a 1935 graduate of Marshall College. The 1947 edition of the Huntington City Directory listed Politano as the company’s president, Herbert T. Carlton Edwards as vice presidents, and Wells Gayor as secretary-treasurer. The Le John plant, a large brick structure, was located at 111 22nd St. In the heart of what was then a busy East Huntington manufacturing district. The company made a number of electrical products, including hair dryers and hassock-style heaters, but was best known for its small, tabletop electric fans for home and industry. The long-vacant Le John building is still standing.
