SUPER RARE ANTIQUE EMERSON ELECTRIC 6 BRASS BLADE FAN MODEL 17666 AS FOUND. INFO ON ATTACHED METAL PLATE:::MODEL # 17666, SERIAL NUMBER 436846, VOLTS 110, CYCLES 60, WATTS 65, PATENTED. THE EMERSON ELECTRICAL MFG. CONDITION: : AS FOUND IN ORIGINAL CONDITION. THE IS IN GREAT SHAPE DESPITE ITS APPEARANCE. THE FAN HAS A THIN LAYER OF PAINT OVERSPRAY AND SOME SPOTS OF BIG DRIPS ON BASE. SOMEONE TOOK THERE FINGERS TO SCRAPE OFF THE FAN BLADES. WHATEVER IS ON THE BLADES IT SCRAPES OF WITH YOUR FINGERS. THE BRASS LOOKS LIKE IT IS REAL NICE IF CLEANED UP AND SHOULD NOT BE TO HARD TO CLEAN. THERE IS NO DAMAGE TO THE FAN OR ANYTHING BROKE. THE CORD LOOKS ORIGINAL. THE ESTATE WE RECEIVED THIS FROM SAID IT RAN. WE PLUGED IT IN AND IT DIDN’T RUN. THE 3 STEP SWITCH ON THE BOTTOM MOVES NICELY. THIS FAN LOOKS LIKE IT WOULD RESTORE VERY NICE. WE DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO FIX THE FAN UP, WE JUST WIPED THE DUST OFF. THE PAINT LOOKS LIKE IT MIGHT JUST COME OFF BUT I DO NOT KNOW THAT FOR SURE. Fan Motor ceiling fan in as found condition for restoring. First patent date July 17, 00. Last patent date July 19, 13. Motor measures 12 across. Comes with original ceiling canopy. Blades are original except for one which appears to be masonite. All blade brackets are original and good. Antique early century GE 6 brass plated blades (12) fan. Please see my other auctions for more great vintage fans including a rare DEBONAIR with octagon cage. If you live east of the Mississippi, it will cost less. Another oldie found here in New England. I didn’t dare plug this one in looking at the age and condition of the wiring. Appears to be complete. Ready for your restoration. Blades are 12 across. Approximate total height is 17 inches. Blades appear to be plated with brass as a magnet will still stick to them. NOTE that the cage is attached incorrectly so that the GE logo isn’t right side up. Also there is one intentionally bent rear section of the cage that is supposed to be at the bottom so you are able to tilt the fan downward (bend gives clearance with the base). Please study all the photos below. I’ll show you all around the fan…. Here is the GE logo as it is supposed to be orientated. And the cage as it is supposed to be when attached correctly. The intentionally bent section is supposed to be at 6 o’clock. A look at both sides. And the other side. A look at the base. It appears to be all here. Showing the back and the motor assembly. C’mon you know you want it! Condition is GD as found. Wear and tear which testifies to its age and vintage. Please examine photos and ask any questions.
