Emerson 26646 Antique Cast Iron Desk Fan – 1920s – Brass Blade – As-Is / Not Working. A genuine 1920s Emerson Type 26646 cast-iron desk fan with brass blades. This is one of Emerson’s classic early oscillating models, known for their heavy-duty motors, brass hardware, and collectible design. Offered as-is, non-working, for restoration or display. Model / Type: 26646. Voltage: 110V / 60 cycles. Country of Origin: USA. Actual Item Weight: 20 pounds (fan alone, not packed). ? Condition – As-Is, Not Working. When plugged in, the motor does not rotate blades or hums. Dust/oil buildup inside the motor. Because of this, the fan has not been further tested. No attempts were made to run it to avoid damage. Finish wear on the motor housing. Brass blades show patina. Power cord is original. Oscillator mechanism not tested but does move side to side. TESTED/WORKS See video/photos for more info. The Antique 30’s Emerson Jr. 2650-C Oscillating Electric Fan is a vintage piece of small appliance history. Manufactured by Emerson in the United States during the 1930s, this table/desk fan features an oscillation feature for evenly distributed airflow. Its antique finish adds to its charm as a collectible item for those interested in kitchen and home decor from that era. The Emerson Junior 2650-C is not only functional but also a nostalgic piece that reflects the craftsmanship of bygone times. This incarnation of the Emerson Junior was a styling update to the fans of the Seabreeze line from the 30s. It used the cloverleaf base and the stamped steel two bearing motor. It added new rounded almost overlapping blades, a bullet back, and a deco styled V cage. These fans came in 10″ and 12″ sizes. They were the first Juniors to have type numbers, 2660 and 2650. They also were the first Juniors to come in an assortment of metalic colors including bronze, and green.

This fan works great, powers on easily, runs smoothly on all three speeds (low, medium, high), and oscillates properly. A strong, quiet example of Emerson’s renowned pre-Depression build quality. All major components appear original, including. Wire basket guard. 4-blade steel fan. Center Emerson badge. Cast-iron base with felt. Rear oscillation control. Rotary 3-speed selector. Original black enamel finish shows honest age-appropriate wear and patina, consistent with nearly 100 years of use. No repainting or cosmetic restoration has been done. Brand: Emerson Electric Mfg. Serial Number: # A34567. Power: 110 volts, 60 cycles, 60 watts. Era: Produced in the 1910s-1920s, part of Emerson’s highly collectible line of brass-bladed desk and table fans. 12-inch brass blades with a unique scalloped “Parker” design, characteristic of Emerson fans. Cast iron base and motor housing painted black. Brass cage with Emerson badge at center. Heavy-duty construction with exposed motor. Two-conductor cloth power cord (later replaced with vinyl cord visible in your example). Condition (as seen in photos). Brass blades and cage show tarnish and patina from age. Base and motor housing paint shows wear and some scratches. Original Emerson badge intact and legible. Condition Description: VG – very good condition still working. Looks like cord connecting cage to base original and other cord a replacement. Good working shape, including oscillating, ready to use for desk or room fan.

Please Read: This fan is a 6 blade early brass model very rare. This antique Emerson fan is not perfect, but does work and function as intended. Three defects of the fan, to my knowledge after closely inspecting and cleaning it up a bit are as follows: the power cord is not the original cord it is a GE cord from anther powered item. Also, the blades are not in the most pristine shape as they have tarnish/ corrosion and will need to be thoroughly polished and cleaned. Lastly, the fan must be put to the highest setting in order to initiate the propeller from the off position then can be switched to the lower settings, this is what the result of many years in storage does to old appliances and will possibly need taken apart to remove any dust buildup for better performance. All these things are probably what would be done during any typical restoration and I assure that this fan is in very good condition for its age. And the small defects are minimal. This is an antique and very rare. This fan works as is and can be used as is, or can be restored and become a great addition to any collection for decoration. The fan works very well and heavy duty and powerful for its size and age. Caution: The blades will cause harm to anyone if not aware of safety features that the fans from this era lack compared to modern fans we have today. Please be cautious so children don’t accidentally play near the fan or use it without exteme caution. The 1920’s Emerson Type 29668 16 Oscillating Desk Fan is a charming antique piece that exudes vintage charm. Made of brass and cast iron with a black color finish. Features swivel up an Down and side to side.

This antique Emerson Junior desk fan has been tested and works great. The fan powers on easily and runs smoothly. The motor sounds strong with no unusual noises. Please note: the tilt adjustment mechanism appears to be missing one side, so the fan head cannot currently be tilted up or down and remains fixed in position. This does not affect operation. Tested and fully operational. Original Emerson Junior badge present. Original cage, blades, base, and cord. Nice aged patina consistent with age. Tilt adjustment incomplete (see photos).
