Fresh from an estate is a nice General Electric Vortalex oscillating fan manufactured in the late 1930s and featuring GE’s innovative trailing-tip blade. This model features the scarce creme-colored paint, which was often used in healthcare offices / environments that wished to provide a “clean” appearance, and features desirable 9 diameter blades. The fan is an oscillating model, and can be run stationary or oscillating, by engaging the oscillating knob on the top of the gear box protruding from the back of the motor. The fan is in very good vintage condition, especially given it’s 90+ years old. The original creme paint is largely intact, although it would benefit from a good cleaning, with some minor paint loss here and there, most noticeably on the oscillating gear box. The cage appears to have been repainted at some point long ago (and the color is a slight variation to the motor/base). Most of the original felt on the underside of the fan is still present. The cord appears to be original and is cracking in several places. Please see the pictures for a visual inspection of the fan’s cosmetic condition. The fan is a single-speed model and runs and oscillates well with a slight vibration (often characteristic of Vortalex fans). The blades measure 9 in diameter. The fan’s height is 17.5″, the width is 10″, and the depth is 8.5. Fans make wonderful holiday, birthday, and wedding gifts — anytime a unique and distinctive gift is needed. They also create a wonderful and stylish vintage look. Please note: in some photos there may be a very faint vertical yellow-ish line on the left third of the photo. This is an issue with the camera, the line is not evident on the fan! The fan will be expertly packed (bubble-wrapped and double-boxed).
