Fresh from an estate is a wonderful antique oscillating electric fan manufactured by the General Electric Company. GE marketed this fan under the “quiet blade” brand beginning in the late 1930s, as it introduced a new and innovative overlapping blade design. The fan features a shiny polished blade and black motor/base, creating a striking and impressive look. The fan is ready to be displayed and used and is a guaranteed conversation starter! According to the motor tag, the CAT # is 49X491, Form AS 1, and Number is V 127698. The fan features 12 diameter blades, chromed accents (screws, oiler, and oscillating screw), and black paint. The build quality of the fan is incredible and harkens back to a time where U. Was a world leader in manufacturing. The fan is in excellent original cosmetic condition and retains much of its original black paint, with some paint loss throughout. The fan is missing one cage clip and screw (attaches strut to the cage) and one cage wire has come unattached from the back ring. Please see pictures to visually inspect the fan’s cosmetic condition. The fan is a three speed model. The fans runs smoothly on each distinct speed (high – medium – low) but does not oscillate. The fan’s height is 17.5″, width is 14.25″, and depth is 10.5. Fresh from an estate is a General Electric fan manufactured in the 1940s and marketed under the Vortalex name. The fan blade, cage, motor housing, and base are made of steel. The fan is all original and in beautiful condition, and shows very little signs of use. The tan paint is generally bright and shiny (with some age appropriate scratches and wear), the cord is original and in good condition, and the original brown felt on the bottom of the fan is still present and in good condition. The fan is a three speed model (high – medium – low) and may be operated stationary or oscillating. Best of all, the fan runs beautifully — and oscillates smoothly — on three distinct speeds. The blades measure 16 in diameter — this fans puts out a lot of air! The width is 18.5″, height is 20.25″ and depth is 11.5. The build quality of the fan is impressive — heavy!
