Fresh from an estate is a nice General Electric Vortalex oscillating fan manufactured in the late 1930s and featuring GE’s innovative trailing-tip blade. This model features the scarce creme-colored paint, which was often used in healthcare offices / environments that wished to provide a “clean” appearance, and features desirable 9 diameter blades. The fan is an oscillating model, and can be run stationary or oscillating, by engaging the oscillating knob on the top of the gear box protruding from the back of the motor. The fan is in very good vintage condition, especially given it’s 90+ years old. The original creme paint is largely intact, although it would benefit from a good cleaning, with some minor paint loss here and there, most noticeably on the oscillating gear box. The cage appears to have been repainted at some point long ago (and the color is a slight variation to the motor/base). Most of the original felt on the underside of the fan is still present. The cord appears to be original and is cracking in several places. Please see the pictures for a visual inspection of the fan’s cosmetic condition. The fan is a single-speed model and runs and oscillates well with a slight vibration (often characteristic of Vortalex fans). The blades measure 9 in diameter. The fan’s height is 17.5″, the width is 10″, and the depth is 8.5. Fans make wonderful holiday, birthday, and wedding gifts — anytime a unique and distinctive gift is needed. They also create a wonderful and stylish vintage look. Please note: in some photos there may be a very faint vertical yellow-ish line on the left third of the photo. This is an issue with the camera, the line is not evident on the fan! The fan will be expertly packed (bubble-wrapped and double-boxed). For your consideration is this rare and highly desirable 16 Century desk fan (Model 265, Frame S3C-16). Manufactured in the 1920s, this heavy cast-iron unit is nearly a century old and built like a tank. Unlike common residential 9″ or 12″ models of the era, the 16 frame size was produced in much lower quantities for commercial spaces, making surviving, functional examples hard to come by. Model: Century Model 265 (oscillating, 16-inch frame). Blade & Guard: Original heavy brass blades and original signature Century “S-web” safety cage. Build: Cast-iron body and base with original stamped aluminum badge. Electrical: Classic 1920s split-phase motor with an internal centrifugal switch and base-mounted choke reactor speed control (no capacitors were used in this era). Speed 1 is the fastest and speeds 2 and 3 are the slower speeds. Wiring: Replaced with, updated wiring-ready to display and run. Condition & Operation: 100% Fully Functional: Runs smooth and quiet across speeds. The internal centrifugal switch and base choke reactor engage properly. At times you may need to manually move the brass blade to get the unit going. However, it works as is. The video demonstrates the operation condition. You’ll be hard pressed to find a unit 100+ years old that operates. I was not going to dissemble to fix this minor inconvenience. The important thing is this does work. Flaws: Extremely clean for its age with minor cosmetic wear. One brass blade wing has a tiny chip and a slight vintage crease. It balances and runs fine as-is, or could easily be dressed out by a collector. This will be packed for a rigid travel. Plenty of packing and materials will be used to secure the fan. The closer you are to my location, the better I can do price wise. Please review all photos and the video. I welcome any questions you may have.

Model F10 catalog number 650. Runs 0.75 amp / 53 watts. Originally Made in Fulton New York circa 1940. This beautiful fan is fully operational and moves air like one would expect from a time when folks made quality products with top shelf materials. It has been totally disassembled. All parts cleaned in a sonic bath, and has been restored by a qualified master technician. Primed and painted with industrial grade paint, Seymour 473 Light Blue, with a Black grill and Black blade. All electrical contacts, switch, and the trim hardware have been hand polished to a mirror finish. Should last another eighty years or so.

Fresh from an estate is a wonderful antique oscillating electric fan manufactured by the General Electric Company. GE marketed this fan under the “quiet blade” brand beginning in the late 1930s, as it introduced a new and innovative overlapping blade design. The fan features a shiny polished blade and black motor/base, creating a striking and impressive look. The fan is ready to be displayed and used and is a guaranteed conversation starter! According to the motor tag, the CAT # is 49X491, Form AS 1, and Number is V 127698. The fan features 12 diameter blades, chromed accents (screws, oiler, and oscillating screw), and black paint. The build quality of the fan is incredible and harkens back to a time where U. Was a world leader in manufacturing. The fan is in excellent original cosmetic condition and retains much of its original black paint, with some paint loss throughout. The fan is missing one cage clip and screw (attaches strut to the cage) and one cage wire has come unattached from the back ring. Please see pictures to visually inspect the fan’s cosmetic condition.
