Vintage Diehl 1950s Blue 16 Blade Caged Desk Table Fan REWIRED NO Oscillating. When I got this all the wires had deteriorated and would surely arch if plugged in. I opened it up and replaced all the wires inside with better newer stuff as well as soldered joints with heatshrink and even added a ground for safety. Unfortunately, It’s missing an arm or something and the oscillation action doesn’t work. The fan itself WORKS GREAT now. Really gotta watch your fingers when using the switch. I guess they were less concerned with finger safety back then since they made the holes in the cage so big. Some scratches and chips in the paint here and there. Also, I had to cut one of the three screws that hold the bottom plate on. Two hold it on just fine. VERY RARE 1920s BRASS CAGED & BLADED ANTIQUE VINTAGE ELECTRIC FAN. FULLY RESTORED – REWIRED – REPAINTED FROM GROUND UP. This is a THREE speed fan which moves the air terrifically well. A further indication of 1920s – We would say – One speed fans were the first to be made but quite some time after the discovery of electricity. Heaters were the first electrical appliance made and motors came latter. This highly collectable fan has been fully stripped back and rebuilt UB40 lubricated and all parts rewired and restored. The brass blade and cage have no scratches and have come up to a lustrous shine. This has a 4 METER 40 CM cord. We have put a new braided cord form fan motor to the base to help keep its vintage appeal. It also has 3 screw holes on the base so it can be mounted to the wall. It was rattling like most vintage fans can do but after restoration is now running very smoothly ALTHOUGH All these old fans are far from silent. It was originally a black housing but I have changed the colour to a more versatile forest green. It looks fabulous in reality and the brass looks a much deeper gold than the pictures show. All these extremely old fans have there defects and so does this. Break in fan cage pictured – Screw missing from fab blade arm so wired in instead. Fan works best in the upright position on all speeds. GREAT VINTAGE CONDITION BUT FAR FROM EXCELLENT OR PERFECT. From the research I’ve done on this fan it seems to be from the mid century, though I can’t find another exactly like it, it is 3 speed, Heavy iron base with a metal caged ball at the top which encases the 4 paddle style fan blades, fan is approx 18 tall..
