This is an antique Toast-O-Lator from the 1940s. It is a Model J and the Serial Number is 1048. It is completely functional! The springs / coils heat up and it features a sophisticated mechanical conveyor system which transports the bread from one side to the other toasting it in the process, and ejecting it at the other side fully toasted. There is a setting on the side for darker or lighter toast, and an on / off switch on the other side. I believe the switch and power cord have been replaced but dont know with certainty. To the right of the switch, there is a small piece missing from the base (see picture). The chrome is in decent shape on one side. The other side has a fair amount of pits / rust spots. The top has a few pits / rust spots. There are 2 porthole windows (one on each side) for viewing the toast as it goes through the toaster. The toaster is about 12 wide by almost 5 thick (at the base) by 10 tall. Overall, this vintage toaster is in good shape considering its age.
