This fan is fresh from a local estate, it does work on both speeds however the cord is very brittle! Definitely would recommend a rewire as the casing is cracking off and it’s had a replacement end spliced on already. Small chip/crack on head of fan as shown in photos. Little fan actually moves a lot of air!

This vintage General Electric fan was manufactured in 1930. The type is AOU and the Form is AK1. The fan is black instead of the Pullman Green other AOU’s had; and, it was the first model to have black painted aluminum blades instead of brass. There are no dents in any housing parts and the wire cage is free from bends and damage. The blades are well balanced and don’t have any pits or bends. The cord and motor-control wiring is good. The contacts on the slider control probably have a little corrosion that needs to be sanded off as the L-M-H speeds need a little wiggling from the selector lever to settle the connection. The motor is quiet, runs smoothly, and no warbling. All in all, at nearly 100 years old, this fan functions nearly as well as it did when it left the factory. Measurements: Wire Case, side to side is 17.5″; Fan Blades, side to side are 16″; Base to Top of Cage is 20″; Diameter of Base is approximately 7″; and, the approximate depth is 9.

It’s 4 metal blades rotate freely in the 6 spoke metal cage. It has an adjustable tilt/head feature (as seen in photos) that is set and secured by a wing nut. Antique circa 1930s General Electric 10 Bullet nose art deco fan in good working condition! The fan does run really strong and moves a lot of air for it’s size. Single speed fan and no oscillation, there is an option to adjust the tilt of the fan. Additional condition notes – Overall wear is commensurate with age. Some minor loss to paint. The blades are in pretty good shape overall, they are painted black. The fan has been at least partially rewired in the past. Finally there is a screw missing on the back of the fan directly above the GE logo. For it’s size, this fan has some weight to it and looks great too!
